What is it?
Yerba mate comes from a tree that has been utilized and cultivated first by the Guaraní people in South America and in southern Brazil, prior to European colonization. For centuries the leaves have been used in a traditional tea which is still incredibly popular, particularly in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay and southern Chile. It is also very popular in Syria where it is imported from Argentina.
